Scientists do not simply observe and record. They infer, generalize, theorize, and weigh competing explanations. Law depends on epistemology because courts must evaluate testimony, memory, probability, expert claims, and standards of proof. Journalism depends on it because reporting always involves source assessment, corroboration, uncertainty, and the ethics of publication. Education depends on it because teaching is not only the transfer of content but the formation of better believers and better inquirers.

A healthy epistemic culture makes room for retraction, qualification, replication, and careful dissent without treating these as signs of weakness.
